Fun-Filled Day at the Street Stage Pop-Up

Well, we had a blast at the Street Stage Pop-Up a couple weeks ago! All the musicians were amazing--Tall Heights, The New Thoreaus, Conspiracy of Beards, Jimmy Kansau, and Caitlin Lacey & The Twin-Not-Twins--and our hosts at Dandelion Chocolate made sure there was plenty of chocolate to go around during the chocolate tasting.

For us, the biggest thrill as seeing so many people gather to enjoy some music on a beautiful Sunday on Valencia Street. Thanks to all who came out! Thanks also to Chloe Veltman of VoiceBox. Her radio show on street performance, featuring Street Stage and clips from our pop-up, will air on KALW (91.7, San Francisco) April 5th, 10-11pm. It will also be available as a podcast on iTunes (kalwvoicebox).

A final thanks to Hunter Franks, who took many of the fantastic photos below!

Performances Galore at Mission Community Market

Street Stage was installed at Mission Community Market's weekly market on Thursday with great success! Thanks to MCM for hosting us as well as to the awesome musicians who performed on Street Stage: Shannon Harney & Everybody Band, Uni & Her Ukelele, and the amazing local kids who serenaded us with rockin' renditions of the ABC's and the Itsy Bitsy Spider during the Kids Open Mic!

Jan. 17: Come for the produce, stay for the performances!

Street Stage will be installed Jan. 17th at Mission Community Market, one of San Francisco's best neighborhood marketplaces! The market runs 4-8pm on Bartlett Street, between 21st and 22nd Streets. Some great performers are already lined up--let us know if you'd like to join, or just show up, get up on stage, and show your neighbors what  you've got!

Andre Thierry & La Gente Play Street Stage

Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic and La Gente played a couple of great sets on Street Stage at Off the Grid's Holiday Market. It was chilly night at Fort Mason, but there was plenty of dancing to keep warm! Thanks to Off the Grid and the bands for a great evening!

Fun at Block Friday

Block Friday was a huge success! At least 150 people came to grab some post-Turkey day grub and enjoy a very fine San Francisco afternoon with friends and neighbors on Market Street! A very special thanks to the spoken-word and musical artists who performed on Street Stage!

Also, on display was our new module that doubled as an extension to our original prototype and provided a service area from which we served beverages. So many possibilities for adapting Street Stage!

Join Street Stage at Block Friday Potluck

As noted in our previous post, we are teaming up with Jessica Watson and Chris Treggiari of swap/meet SF to host what promises to be an awesome event at ATO. It's a post-Thanksgiving, mid-Market community potluck and you're all invited! Bring some food, eat some food, bring some friends, make some friends!

Street Stage will be there with a new toy that is under construction as we speak! We are super excited to see what talent finds its way up on stage! Contact us if you'd like to perform or just show up!
